?MTN, Ghana’s Leading Telecomunication Company introduced a career fair dubbed MTN career fair in the year 2013 to help young graduates in final year students bridge the career guidance and counselling gap in the country.

This year’s event which happens to be the 2nd edition of the MTN Career fair goes beyond just job searching or? career guidance and counseling but a huge platform aimed at inculcating in the youth? job creating talents.

It was? indeed a very successful event which saw many young men and women in attendance with so much passion and desire to learn, share ideas and network.

?Commenting on the initiative at the opening of the event, General Manager for consumer and Marketing,? Noel Kojo-Ganson noted that MTN is aware of the expectations of many young people who attend job fairs notably, the expectation to meet possible employers or agencies who can enlist or recruit them for job. He however, disclosed this year’s plan has changed.

He said “I am excited to let you know that we have gone beyond that to focus on the bigger picture considering the realities we are faced as a country. This forum is to get all of us think beyond getting a job and to consider the possibility of creating a job and be our own managers instead of searching for non-existing jobs. This is possible and we will show you how” he noted.

He describe the second edition of the MTN career fair as a program that the company is so passionate about which seeks to empower the youth to meet the challenges of a dynamic world, urging them to make good use of the opportunities they stand to gain from it.

According to him, MTN is aware of several interventions being made by the public and private sector which focused on bridging the gap between the employed and unemployed. “Our role therefore is to complement the efforts in a sustaining manner whilst psyching up and exposing the youth to job creation opportunities” he stressed.

In line with? MTN’s vision of leading in delivery of a bold new digital technology world, he encourage the participants to make good? use of the technology to enhance their skills in searching for job.

Participants were? given first hand knowlege on various topics including how to position themselves as best candidates during a job interview as well as well as how to form strategic partnerships for job creation.

It is the greatest expectation of? the company? that the MTN career fair will equip both students and job seekers with the relevant skills needed to enhance employability.
