MTN Empowers Youth To Meet Challenges Of Dynamic World

MTN, Ghana?s leading Telecommunication Company, on Thursday held a career fair dubbed: ?MTN Career Fair? to empower the youth to meet the challenges of a dynamic world in Accra.wpid-mtn.jpg

The fair was also to help graduates and final year students in tertiary institutions bridge the career guidance and counseling gap.

Mr Noel Kojo-Ganson, General Manager Consumer Marketing, MTN said the company was aware of several intervention being made by the private and public sectors that were focused on bridging the gap between the employed and unemployed.

The participants will receive guidance on how to write compelling CVs and how to prepare for job interviews.

Registered participants would also have the opportunity to meet recruitment agencies and prospective employers for job interviews during and after the fair.

?Our role, therefore, is to complement these efforts in sustaining manner, whilst psyching up and exposing the youth to job creation opportunities,? he added.

He said the platform was to get the youth to think beyond getting a job and to consider the possibility of creating a job and be managers of their own establishments instead of searching for non-existing job.

Mr Kojo-Ganson said the country needed talented individuals, who could effectively and efficiently contribute to the development of the country.

?Employers need people, who have the initiative, the right attitude, resilience and the confidence to create, package and sell,? he said.

He expressed the hope that participants would pay attention to the coaching and mentoring sessions as well as the sessions on the value of undertaking professional courses.

Mr Ehie Binitie, Chief Technology Officer, Rancard Solution speaking on the topic: ?How to form strategic partnership for job creation? urged job seekers to capture value through partnerships.

?Partnerships are effective ways to finance job creation and business growth,? he said.
