According to reliable information, many of the cases that were reported to the police as regards the killings, rape and brutalities meted to residents by the Fulani settlers, have not seen the light of day since these MPs and politicians are allegedly influencing the prosecution of the cases for court.

spyghana.com?established that some MPs and other notable politicians are playing lead roles in the release of the Fulanis who have been arrested for killing and brutalizing residents because the cattle the Fulanis are taking to graze belong to the politicians, especially the MPs.

The situation?spyghana.com?gathered is worse in Agogo in the Asante-Akyim North of the Ashanti Region where over 60 cases reported to the Agogo police station against the Funali settlers for killing and raping residents, are still lying in their books without any attempt to prosecute the perpetrators.

?Our investigation revealed that the situation is greatly living residents in fear, as the people they believed could defend and protect them are rather assisting the Fulanis against them.

The residents told?spyghana.com??that the Fulanis have their cattle graze freely on their farms destroying food crops in the process. They also accuse the nomads?of murder, rape and any other inhuman?treatment.

Although, National Security Council?issued ultimatum to the Fulani people to vacate the Agogo land, for the interest of these politicians, this paper can report that the fulanis are still occupying the area threatening the lives of residents.

Reports indicate that the Fulani herdsmen started arriving in the traditional area which has huge tracts of arable lands sharing?boundary?with the Kwahu Hills in the?Eastern Region, in 1987.

spyghana.com?established that Fulani herdsmen however besieged the area in their numbers and had started destroying the farms.

The?destruction?of farmlands in the area by these nomads?spyghana.com?learnt became prevalent to the extent that the residents began to protest against their activities.

This paper also gathered that some of the Fulani herdsmen had been allocated a permanent land by the politicians who have their cattle under the care of these Fulanis.

Though the struggle for the expulsion of the Fulani herdsmen continued unabated, the efforts of the residents amounted to nothing due to the regularization of the activities of some of the cattle owners in the area by these MPs.

According to the residents, the cattle did not only destroy farms but the herdsmen also killed and wounded people and raped women in the presence of their husbands.

?Speaking on various media networks in Accra recently a 56-year-old farmer of Agogo Maxwell Asante disclosed??that a total of??one hundred and thirty-five people?of Agogo?have been killed by Fulani herdsmen between 2010 and 2013.

According to him, just about a couple of months ago, a resident was killed by Fulani herdsmen and we had to bury him without a head.

?Mr. Asante minced no words when he?accused the police and national Security?of turning a blind eye to the atrocities perpetrated against the residents by Fulani herdsmen.

The farmer noted that if the Fulani herdsmen who were employed by the top officials of the national administration including the?King Faisal football club?owner Alhaji Karim Grunza, in Agogo are killing my people or raping women then we are hell in pour oen hometown.?

According to him, when the residents reported the matter to police and national?security, they (the security agencies)?turned a blind eye.

?I?personally?made several?desperate calls to the national administration to salvage the area from marauding Fulani herdsmen but yet still nothing has been done? said the farmer

He stated that the ?Fulani herdsmen are rather killing our people and the Agogo police, the divisional and regional police?commanders and the regional divisional securities are all aware of this. ?

Mr. Asante indicated that the Fulani herdsmen have no right to lynch or behead residents as he claims has been happening, even if the residents have committed any?crime.

He recounted chilling moments where, regularly, these Fulani herdsmen accosted couples on their farms and demanded to have sex with the wives, and have in instances forcibly succeeded in carrying through their desire.

The activities according to him MP have resulted in broken marriages saying that the residents are even afraid to go to their farms for fear of being attacked.
