Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says compatriot Michael Essien is still in great shape despite lacking regular playing time for the first half of the season.

Badu believes the box-to-box midfielder?s qualities will be crucial for the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup finals.

Essien joined Italian giants  AC Milan in January and been featuring in matches in the Serie A and Champions League.

Badu played a cameo against Essien?s Milan on Saturday when they beat the Rossoneri 1-0.

He says the former Chelsea man is on top of his game.

?Mike is an abundance of talent and working alongside him is a great honour. He?s a leader on the field of play and a mentor to all of us,? the Udinese player told allsports.com.gh

?Looking at his current form there is no doubt we have an asset in this great Black Stars team who will surely make an impact at the World Cup.?
