Methodist Bishop Expresses Concern Over High Level Of Corruption In Ghana

The Bishop of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church, Rt. Rev. John Kweku Buabeng Odoom has expressed grave concern about the high level of corruption in the country despite the fact that almost every Ghanaian belong to one religious sect or another.

The canker is said to abound in the country, especially among the political elites and has become a bane in the society in recent times.
Addressing the 54th Annual Synod of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church at AgonaSwedru,Bishop BuabengOdoom expressed worry about the rising level of the canker, though he said the very people who perpetrate the practice belong to religious organizations.
He described as shameful level of the canker, saying that it does not only turn to create economic hardship in the country, but also paint a negative picture to the outside world.
He therefore charged the various religious groups and all concern citizens in the country to stand up against the practice and condemn it no uncertain terms to bring a stop to the act to save the country from further economic hardship.
