KUALA LUMPUR — A Bolivian vessel sank in Malaysian waters on Wednesday, leaving 14 people missing, including 13 Chinese and one Malaysian, the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia said.

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan — More than 20 Taliban militants have been killed and two dozen others injured during cleanup operations in the northern Baghlan province over the past three days, a senior police officer said Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD — Security forces in Pakistan have arrested the mastermind of a bloody attack on a bus that killed over 40 minority Ismaili Shiites in the port city of Karachi, a cabinet minister said on Wednesday.
The Islamic State and the banned Jundullah group had claimed responsibility for the May 13 attack.
Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan told reporters that several others involved in the bus attack were also detained. He said those arrested belong to different groups; however, he did not identify the groups. (Pakistan-Bus Attack-Mastermind)

BANGKOK — Thailand attaches great importance to humanitarian assistance and will not push back migrants stranded in the Thai territorial water, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
A statement was released after Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn attended a three-nation meeting in Malaysia, which “urged for a comprehensive solution and concerted efforts in addressing the unprecedented increase of irregular migration in the region.”
The meeting, also attended by foreign ministers of Malaysia and Indonesia, was held against the backdrop that thousands of Bangladeshis and Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims have been found abandoned at sea over the past week. (Thailand-Migrants) Enditem
