The AMOUNT of optimism in Black Stars camp could easily sink a titanic ship, a source close to the team has revealed.

Skipper of the side, Asamoah Gyan, has admitted the enormity of the task as a result of the USA defeat, but has given the assurance of putting the America loss behind them and go for the kill.

Guided by their maiden World Cup experience, Gyan was confident they would sail through saying, ?We have done it before, in Germany 2006 we lost our first game but we bounced back to win subsequently.

?That has been our motivation and we have really psyched ourselves up for Saturday?s game. We are down but not out, we are in a difficult situation but we will surely survive.?

Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, a member of the Black Stars back room staff, has indicated that if determination is the determining factor in this evening game, then, the Africans are well ahead of their European counterparts.

He has indicated that the playing body has assumed a different posture since stumbling in their opening game against America last Monday night.

To Appiah, the posture of the team, which depicts seriousness and willingness to win, is a good indication, and believes nothing but a victory should be expected in tonight?s clash.

News from the team?s camp indicates the high probability of changes in selection which would see Shalke 04 star Kevin Prince Boateng and AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien, who started from the bench in the opener, picking first team shirts.

The Boateng brothers-Kevin and Jerome ?rivalry? has further raised the stakes in the clash. The two brothers clashed four years ago in South Africa on the same platform with Jerome emerging victorious (Germany1-0 Ghana).

Kevin, featuring for the Black Stars has psyched his colleagues to avenge the South Africa loss or bow out from the soccer festival.

German forward Gotze in like manner is brimming with confidence to replicate the South Africa feat.

?I had one good chance to score a goal (against Portugal),? Gotze said in an interview.

?I want to score against Ghana now. It won?t be easy because the Ghanaians are under pressure and need to win.

?It?s already a playoff for them but we want the three points.?
