He may carry on his shoulders one of the established names in Ghana football but this 19 year old youngster is not fancied by the huge task that comes with this and, is determined to go down in history as one of the very best that graced the pitch.
Attacking midfielder, Malik Jabirr has been making wakes on the local scene steadily, and it seems it’s only a matter of time before he grows to become a top ball player in Ghana and beyond.
The player is currently on the books of Ghanaian premiership side, Accra Great Olympics with his deal with the Wonder Club set to expire at the end of this season.
Prior to the start of this campaign, he was loaned out to division one outfit Real Tamale United (RTU) but had to pull out of the deal after the northern club could not meet his expectations.
Jabirr is back in Accra where it all started for him a decade ago as a juvenile player.
He joined Olympics from juvenile (colt’s) club Dynamic FC of Nungua in 2008, and, was part of the squad that qualified the club back into the premiership at the end of last season.
In season 2012/13 when Olympics where still a second tier side, chieftains at the club saw the potential in him and loaned him out to AshantiGold SC of the elite division where his performances were outstanding enough as he played a part in their success of that campaign.
He is looking up to another loan move during the second transfer window of the division one league now that he cannot be registered to play for his mother club as registration for the elite division campaign has ended.
But the player has stepped up his training as he looks forward to the opening of the second transfer window in the second tier competition and is eager to impress as he looks to fulfil his true potential -an aspiration that once saw him being dubbed a future ?Midfield General?.
He has pace, stamina, good dribbling ability a good passer and crosser of the ball and shoots with both feet qualities that can only be associated with legends of the game.
Jabirr has Ghana’s former captain Stephen Appiah as his role model and also looks up to Spanish and Barcelona icon Andreas Iniesta for inspiration and hopes their success on the pitch goes to shape his promising career to greater heights and make good of the name that his carries.
