Kpatinga sits on time bomb as security lock out chief

Tension mounts in troubled Kpatinga in the Northern Region once more as the military lock out the embattled chief from his palace.

A similar incident this week led to an uneasy calm, culminating in curfew imposed in the town.

Naa-Naatogmah Ziblim was prevented from going into the palace by military personnel, who stormed the area on Saturday with armored cars and army vehicles.

The chief was hospitalized last Wednesday after his claims of being manhandled by military officials and has been locked out upon his return.

The latest development follows recent tensions in the area between members of the Andani and Abudu gates over the installation of parallel chiefs contrary to the Dagbon Road Map to Peace.

The assemblyman for Gushegu, Musah Tahiru told Citi News there have been no clashes after the palace incident today, but tension is high due to the intensive military and police surveillance in the area.
