League winners?Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday presented the?league trophy they won last?season to the Ashanti?regional minister Samuel?Sarpong.wpid-Asante-Kotoko-with-most-nominations-for-this-years-FA-Cup-awards.jpg

Led by their CEO Opoku?Nti, the Porcupine Warriors?made the presentation to the?minister at his office in?Kumasi.

Mr. Sarpong, with support?from his able deputy?Joseph Yammin, received the?trophy at a short function.

The Minister, in his succinct?remarks, charged the?Porcupine Warriors to?defend the league trophy?next season and called for?close ties between the?Regional Coordinating?Council (RCC) and Kotoko,?which is the heart of Ashanti.

Mr. Sarpong expressed?the willingness of the RCC to?support Kotoko to develop,?notably, its infrastructural?base.

George Kennedy,?Kotoko?s Operations Manager,?said retaining the?league diadem and making?a huge impact in Africa were?their targets this season.

He said owner of the?club Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,?the Asantehene, had tasked?management to win the?African trophy ?and that is?our main target?.

He urged the RCC to?support the club both in cash?and kind to poach quality?players and improve its?infrastructure.

Joseph Yammin, Deputy?Ashanti Regional Minister,?applauded Kotoko for winning?a hat-trick of league trophies?on the trot.

He described the club?s?achievement as a feat for the?entire region, urging Kotoko?to work hard to retain the?league trophy this season.

The famous Ali?Maradona and Wahid were?among the Kotoko officials?that were present at the?function.?Francis Dodovi,?Spokesperson for the?Ashanti Regional Minister,?also attended the short ceremony.
