Kotoko Chief Sarpong Apologises Over Fans’ Attack On Medeama
Kotoko have issued a grovelling apology to Medeama over the brutal attack supporters of the Porcupine Warriors launched on the Tarkwa-based club.
KK Sarpong, the Executive Board chairman of Kotoko, made the apology after fans of his club vandalised the Medeama team bus after Wednesday’s league match.
The Reds drew 0-0 with the Mauves and Yellows in a game where fans saw problems with officiating from Silas Okine.
“It’s true we do have concerns about officiating but if you miss glorious opportunities and later attack referees, I don’t see the reasons in taking such action,” KK Sarpong said.
“Incidents like this bring about additional costs because we have to bill out supporters and pay for the smashed windscreen of Medeama’s bus.
“I have spoken personally with the management of Medeama on the reactions of my supporters condemning their acts but I must say if even we lose a match it is not even the end of the world.
“There should be stability in our behaviour because what transpired yesterday wasn’t the best.”
Kotoko are expected to be hauled before the GFA disciplinary committee.
