Kogi United Seeks Replay of Controversial NNL Match

Kogi United has appealed for a replay of its week-14 fixture against the Spotlight FC of Katsina following the controversial victory awarded the home team.
The Lokoja based side in an official complaint signed by the team Secretary, Ebenehi Gabriel, prayed the Board of the Nigeria National League to reschedule the game.
The statement reports that the visiting second division side with footage from the visual records taken by its hired Cameraman exposed the disappointing decision made by the match officials in the
course of the encounter.
The footage also showed that in the 69minutes the Spotlight FC defender nodded the ball back to his goalkeeper in the eighteen yard box before Kogi United?s Obinna Martins intercepted the ball and fired home.
The goal resulting from the Spotlight defensive error ignited the jubilation of the spectators but to the shock of everyone saw the Assistant Referee,Salifu Mohammed of Abuja flagged up for an offside.
The decision compelled the confused Centre Referee, A.G.
Idris of Kano state to disallow the goal for an offside kick.
