Dr KK Sarpong has come under fire from angry Kotoko supporters

Unhappy Asante Kotoko supporters are planning a protest against their Executive Board Chairman for selling their best players.

Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong has come in for lots of flak for his selling policy which has seen as many as four key players leave the club.

Last season?s MVP Daniel Nii Adjei has joined Congolose giants TP Mazembe while striker Ben Acheampong has been sold to Angolan side Petro Athletico.

Defender Awal Mohammed left at the end of last season to South African side Maritzurg United while right back Yaw Frimpong is expected to join the exodus train.

Midfielder Michael Anaba is also being courted by an unnamed clubs in Spain and Sweden.

Many of their former greats including legend Reverend Osei Kofi have had calls to criticize the current management for their selling policy.

Head coach Mas-ud Draman has come under pressure from a section of their supporters to quit the club following their unflattering performances in the top-flight.

But there are others who believe the move is being orchestrated by Dr Sarpong who sources say has been unhappy with Draman?s tactical approach to games.

A member of the Youth Development Committee of the club David Siribuor has openly criticized the administrative style of the Executive Board Chairman claiming he was behind calls by some supporters to have the coach ousted.

?The coach is not going today or tomorrow. He has done nothing wrong. It?s the management members who are behind these faceless people who are making unsubstantiated allegations.? Siribour told Accra-based Happy FM

?You sell your best players and you expect to win the League? It doesn?t work that way.

?When we tell them, they don?t listen because they think they are bigger than the club.

?We don?t even know how much these players are sold. They sell the players and fail to render account to the supporters.

?How much was Nii Adjei sold? They should tell us. They are unable to do so because they know what they are doing.

?Dr Sarpong and some of his management members are doing more harm than good to the club.

?It?s time for the supporters to rise up and demand answers and we?ll demand those answers from them.

?I don?t see Kotoko retaining the league title. It?s not impossible but very difficult. I forsee Kotoko placing 7th this season.

?Otumfour is a wise man. And I believe he will sack them at the right time.

The Porcupine Warriors lie fourth on the table, four points adrifts of leaders Aduana Stars and have a crunch game against city rivals King Faisal on Sunday.
