Kalu further said all the players were eagerly waiting for the friendly match in order to tell Nigerians the new tactics of play the technical crew has introduced to the team.
According to him: “The winning mentality is to play according to instruction; approach every match with seriousness; believe in yourselves and avoid every mistake in the field of play.”
“The most important thing for us is to win our matches; as long as we do that we will win the confidence of the technical crew who believe in us as well as Nigerians” he said.
He continued: “The coach always tells us to play as if we were playing a normal game like we have done in our career but with seriousness. I want to assure you that we have a good team and there is no need to worry about what would happen in Peru.”
“He always says he believes in us and I have also realized this is a game of football especially after playing against six times Africa champions Egypt in which I scored a goal. My brother I must tell you that goal put me in another level of experience to face any opponent without fear or intimidation.”
He called on Nigerians to pray fervently for the team as Keshi approaches the final re-building of the Super Eagles, stressing that the game against Egypt has taught the players a lesson.
