Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem District (KEEA) in the Central Region on Thursday jeered and booed at the parliamentary candidate of the area Dr. Joseph S. Annan in a clear sign of disapproval for his candidature.

This happened when President John Dramani Mahama attempted to announce and endorse Dr. Annan as the NDC Parliamentary candidate for that constituency at a rally.

The hundreds of NDC supporters in a unanimous voice expressed their displeasure at the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry who they say has been disrespectful to them over the years.

President Mahama tried to convince the NDC supporters to put all misunderstandings behind them and forge ahead as a unit. ?As a family we need to agree to disagree even as a party.?

However the irate supporters continued to shout and chant ?away? to register their displeasure for Dr. J.S Annan as their Parliamentary aspirant.

Calm was however restored when President Mahama announced plans to meet Dr. J.S Annan and Dr. Ato Quarshie, the independent candidate the people rather prefer, to find a lasting solution.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama was installed as the ?Farini nii kwegya III? (the Chief of fishermen in Elmina) following the death of late President Mills.

The chief and elders of the area say this is a sign of their gratitude toward the government for all the developmental projects initiated in the area .The President on his part accepted the title and promised to avail himself when he is called upon.
