Ghana defender John Paintsil will not face prosecution in court for assaulting a neighbour who has decided not to press charges against the player.

The complainant, Amoah Danquah, was punched by the Hapoel Tel Aviv player in his house when he tried to stop him from beating up his own wife.

The married couple were involved in a scuffle at their Trassaco residence in Accra but Mrs Richlove Paintsil escaped to seek refuge at Danquah?s house.

It was there that the Ghana international slapped Danquah, who is a wealthy businessman in Ghana.

But the victim and principal witness of the case, he has decided not to pursue the case.

This latest development has frustrated the Police?s ability to prosecute the Black Stars player.

It will be recalled that Paintsil?s wife also decided against pressing charges against his husband to settle the matter amicably at home.
