Javsalynn Foundation Commissions Secretariat

DSC_0321The office of the National Youth Authority, the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has unveiled a secretariat of the Overseas University Entrants Program for Javsalynn Foundation.

The Secretariat will be responsible for housing the Javsalynn Foundation and all its activities.

The Javsalynn Foundation deals with programs and activities for the renaissance, education and development of the youth.

At the launch of its secretariat located at Zongo Junction in Laterbiokoshie in Accra, the Director of the Foundation Gideon Aryeequaye announced that the overseas entrant program intends to transform youth in Ghana and make them more resourceful.

He averred that negotiations have already begun between the foundation and its partners to bring the foundation to its foot.

Gideon Aryeequaye said, ?our research has shown and reinforced the fact that there are numerous brilliant youth from broken homes, prisons, borstals, rehabilitation centres, slums, lake communities, villages and severely deprived areas who troop to the cities looking for lucrative jobs.?

??The majority of these youth are holders of qualifications in either only Basic or Vocational and Technical Education or both. Unfortunately their aspirations do not meet their anticipations,? he said.

According to him, the Javsalynn Foundation recognizes these unfortunate plights of these people that if given the chance they can succeed in achieving higher education.

Also, the National Coordinator of the National Youth Council, Hon. Ras Mubarak noted that the youth are the big decision makers not only for tomorrow but for today, and that the onus lies on all to share in the belief that children are the future of Ghana.

According to him, the nation cannot attain full development if the State fails to give fair representation to the talents of young people, by investing and creating opportunities for them to develop.

He also enumerated that the future growth and productivity depends on young people to develop their potentials provided means and opportunities are created to enable them live their dreams.

?We must not lose sight of the fact that neglect of these people could spell doom for the country,? stressing that government is making commitment to improving the lives of the young people by implementing several interventions in all areas of development.

The Chairman of the Occassion, Dr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije Mayor of Accra commended management of the foundation and expressed the hope that the activities of the foundation will inure to the benefit of the society, as it will build on the potential of the youth.

According to Dr. Vanderpuije for the nation to move to the next level of development, it is in the hands of the youth. he averred that every body is committed to ensuring that our youth have the platform to move the country to the next level of national development.

He said the idea of helping to curb down streetism is dear to his heart and will do all necessary to support the foundation address the issue of streetism as it puts the services and training to the brilliant but needy students who will have the opportunity to study abroad and return with the requisite skills to add up to the development process of the nation.
