Ramallah, Dec. 7 (Prensa Latina) Palestinian protesters remain today in hospitals with symptoms of suffocation after clashes in West Bank cities with Israeli troops during the death marches this Friday for South African leader Nelson Mandela. The demonstrators chanted slogans in which they emphasized the similarities of the ystem of separate development of the races until its abolition in South Africa by Nelson Mandela, with the racist behavior of the Israeli government against the Palestinians.

The protests are convened every Friday since 2005 to demand an end to the Israeli military occupation and against the so-called Wall of Ignominy, cutting the way through several Palestinian villages.

The clashes occurred in the cities of Bilin, Al Masar , Kafr Qaddum and Nabih Saleh, with the participation of nationalists, foreign and local authorities activists carrying posters with the image of Mandela, several of whom were arrested, witnesses said .

Israel had close relations with the racist white minority government in South Africa where Mandela stayed in prison for 27 years.
