Sheik Ameer Mohammed, leader of the Jallo Tijaniyya Muslims, has called on Ghanaians to stop praying for peace and rather pray for justice as the country awaits the final verdict on the election petition case.

The Kumasi-based Islamic cleric said the peace of Ghana hinges on the Justices of the Supreme Court, adding that ?An honest judgment is going to save this country from any level of violence.?

Sheik Mohammed in a statement called on all honest spiritual leaders to begin praying for the Supreme Court Judges that Allah would give them wisdom to understand their duty, knowledge to be just, strength to be firm and courage to speak the truth.

He said ?Ghanaians are peace loving people and will certainly accept the verdict of the Supreme Court. But it is not in Ghanaians to decide how to react to the verdict when it is pronounced. What we should all appreciate is that, Ghanaians will only react peacefully to a verdict that is true and just.?

Sheik Mohammed reiterated again ?We have patiently waited for the verdict of the Supreme Court for months. Let that patience guide us these few days and pray that justice be served.?

In November 2012, Sheik Mohammed proclaimed that the election was going to be one touch win, but would be rigged.

Before the election petition case began, he sent a letter to all the Supreme Court Justices urging them to ensure justices for the sake of the nation?s peace.

He has also sent letters to Pastor Mensa Otabil of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), ex-Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Jerry John Rawlings that they should all stand on the side of truth.
