Is TAN Jonathan’s New Attack Dog?

For a period of about three months now, a Non-Governmental Organisation ? the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria(TAN) has been churning out mass media promotional tools to promote and market the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan since his election in 2011.A Letter

It is a fact on ground that following the huge Media Adverts, TAN has emerged as a household name, a talk of the town and unarguably the most popular Pro-Jonathan group in recent time.
By rating, TAN has gone many miles ahead of its contemporaries like Neighbour to Neighbour, Goodluck Support Group and others in the business of promoting and marketing the accomplishment of the incumbent president.

However, despite the soaring popularity and massive acceptance of TAN among Nigerians from all walks of life in every part of the country, the Pro-Jonathan group is not free from critics who label it as Jonathan?s new attack Dog who doesn?t or cannot see anything wrong with his administration and style.

Well, people are entitled to their opinions but it always amount to shame and disgrace when one?s opinion lacks empirical facts and fail to stand the test of time. To say that TAN is Jonathan?s Attack Dog is funny because one wonders where the critics would stand to defend their argument.

It is worthy of note that since TAN came on air, it has focused on promoting and marketing Jonathan through decent and professional promotional tools and methods on the screen of television stations, radio and the print media, etc. It also expressed readiness to do same for any other public office holder or duty-bearer it believes has performed and was being maligned unfairly. Nobody has seen TAN in the business of attacking any Jonathan?s opponents or traducers with name calling, uncouth language or issuing confrontational statement against them or anyone for that matter. That shows maturity.

Again, TAN is an NGO working for overall welfare of Nigeria and Nigerians Through advocacy, job creation, empowerment of youth and women with a view to reducing poverty and alleviate the masses from economic hardship and suffering.

TAN is not in any way known as a political pressure group but it has decided to galvanise its programs and projects into the Transformation Agenda of Jonathan?s Administration as according to the group’s spokesman, Dr Udenta Udenta, Jonathan has done massively well and deserves the support of every well-meaning Nigerian citizens.

As reliably gathered TAN is profoundly persuaded that President Jonathan has far outperformed all his predecessors in his first term in office and is systematically placing on public record his legacies in Education, Agriculture, Roads, Rail transport, Aviation, Oil and Gas etc. in fact and figures through penetrative advertisement, media programming, placements and other public outreach.

The group believes that President Jonathan?s sterling human qualities, democratic credentials and landmark accomplishments are currently under promoted and under-marketed, hence unfairly being assessed. Therefore TAN has set out programmes to deconstruct all the negative factors for Nigerians and the international community to know the truth and live by it.

Interestingly, TAN is not only engaged in strategic marketing and political advocacy, it is also conceived as a human transformation platform that will develop idea and execute projects in the area of poverty reduction, empowerment and job creation etc.

It is in the light of the above illustration on how to support Jonathan?s Transformation Agenda that TAN sponsored 15 randomly selected Nigerians football enthusiasts to Brazil to cheer Super Eagles during the recent FIFA World Cup and at the same time distributed branded Super Eagles? T-shirts, face caps and Samsung tablets devices, etc.

Certainly it will interest critics to know that in line with TAN?s commitment to Jonathan?s regime, the group is embarking on mass project to create 1 million jobs for Nigerians within the next one year through building of what it described as Industrial Cities/Parks in the six geo-political zones across the country: one in each of the zones as South-East, South-South, South-West, North-East, North-Central and North-West respectively.

As at the time of filing this report, our investigations disclosed that TAN was busy sharing hand bills that contain some of what Jonathan has done in all sectors of governance in the past four years and the reason why Nigerians should give him another 4-year mandate in the forthcoming 2015 general elections.

The handbill which contains what Jonathan has done in Education, Agriculture, Road, Oil and Gas, Power, Transport, Aviation and Women empowerment is currently being circulated in all major cities, villages and hamlets across the country.

TAN posters and bill boards for Jonathan are also everywhere across the country. Information from the group?s office indicates that TAN is mounting 250 bill boards in each of the 36 states of the Federation.

Evidently, what TAN has done so far doesn?t and cannot portray it as an Attack Dog rather it clearly shows that the group is a mere advocate, promoter and marketer of the accomplishments of President Jonathan with a view to let every Nigerian see them from an unbiased and right perspective.

To complete the judgement against the critics who are apparently blind, or suffering from selective amnesia, TAN is a selfless Pro Jonathan group who are unlike those that are only interested in what to get from his administration are assiduously mobilizing support for him based on his very many life-changing projects and programmes so far.
