The phrase, ?to create, loot and share?, which was coined by Justice Jones Dotse in reference to the Waterville scandal, is being replicated in some partsof the country, where illegal Chinese miners were operating.

Investigations by The Independent have uncovered that vehicles and machines which were seized by the government task force on illegal mining are shamelessly being used by the foot soldiers of the party.

Some foot soldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Amenfi Central District/Constituency are reaping where theydid not sow.

Some of the seized items include excavators, caterpillars, tipper trucks and tractors. Some of the vehicles include; Toyota Hilux with registration number, GN2084-12,Nissan Pick-up with registration number, GR 8130-12. The rest are Nissan pick-up number GN7783-11and Toyo Hilux number GC 2674-09.

Some of the party foot soldiers who have allegedly benefited from the booty are the Propaganda Secretary, Ebow Forson. Tinkorang and Armooh all members of the party have also benefitted. These men allegedly used the seized vehicles like their own property.

Their callous behaviour has however infuriated some members of the party who believe they have been handed a raw deal. According to some of them, they served as informants and also took part in the seizure and burning of the properties belonging to the deported Chinese illegal minors and that it was total unfair for a few greedy members to enjoy the booty.

Further investigations have revealed that the vehicles will be used by party foot soldiers for the party?s impending constituency and Zonal elections in the area.

Meanwhile, the Amenfi Central District Assembly is also renting out the seized excavatorsand caterpillars to some illegal miners and contractors are making huge profits as a result.

Further investigations by this newspaper indicate that some of the party foot soldiers have taken advantage of the departure of the national task force and are mining in the national forest reserve at Dwabo Sraha and Wassa Kumasi in the Amenfi District of the Western Region.

The DCE for the area,Mr.Peter Kwakye Ackah could deny or confirm the allegations when The Independent contacted him on the matter. He instead, dared this reporter to come to ground and verify things for himself.

According to him, the attemptto link him and his good office to the alleged looting is a grand design to have him replaced by the president as many interest groups jostle for that position.
