The attention of Akufo-Addo for 2016 UK Campaign group, a voluntary group of UK-domiciled Ghanaians dedicated to supporting Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2016 election bid, has been drawn to some vitriolic statements attributed to Ms. Dede Djaba, denigrating Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, which was published by Ghanweb and other news papers, and broadcast by several radio stations across Ghana.

Ms Dede Djaba is a sister of Ms Otiko Djaba, the NPP National Women’s Organiser and readers must not confuse the two, and the misdeeds of Dede must never be visited on Otiko under any circumstances. It is rather unfortunate that Dede Djaba drags Otiko’s name along in every mud of mischief that she creates, mostly affecting the NPP and its leadership

We wish to state categorically that those statements made by Dede are as falsely composite and concocted, as they are the figments of her quixotic imagination.
The statements which were made on Amansan FM in UK, and given some publicity by some section of the media in Ghana are completely false and unfortunate to say the least.

Ms Djaba is believed to be carrying a history of emotional disablement, histrionics and pure invention of issues in her mind during her moments of delusion which bear no semblance to reality. She does and says things for attention seeking, and bears political and personal grudge with people and organisations for no apparent reason.

This is not the first time Ms Djaba has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. In 2009 she made a number of baseless allegations against the NPP UK leadership after an internal elections and subsequently resigned from the party thereafter.

In 2012, after the general elections in Ghana she was heard on air maligning the party leadership and claimed to be a women’s organiser which she was not. She has been constantly saying and writing about personalities she has personal cause to pick on, and her hostile fabrication about Nana Akufo Addo is another tale in her long history of baggage.

A publication which also asserts that Ms Djaba claims she is a friend of Nana Akufo-Addo is completely false. Some photos Dede Djaba has been carrying around with the aim of showing her closeness to Nana Addo are all just pictures taken when a group of NPP supporters visited Nana when he was in London. She first introduced herself to Nana in 2007 at the Jubilee Celebrations and has never worked with Nana Addo and knows Nana casually as any other ordinary party member.

Ms Djaba’s overt antagonism towards Nana Akufo-Addo is known to all, as she vehemently campaigned against Nana Addo’s candidature during the just ended primaries. These notwithstanding, in spite of a call for unity for all party members, irrespective of who one supported, Ms Djaba is inclined to enjoy unnecessary media attention and carries on creating events intended to hurt and malign Nana Akufo Addo.

Much as Akufo Addo for 2016 sympathises with Ms Djaba’s vulnerability in these instances where she does not seem to have the will or ability to speak the truth, as she imagines libellous things to her personal satisfaction, we are appealing to the public and the media to be aware that the statements made by her on these occasions are a bunch of aggregated delusive fabrications affecting her mind, that go to underscore her ability to lie and fabricate matters as a notorious pseudologue.

We are also appealing to the leadership of NPP UK, a group she still claims to be a member of, and holds several committee positions, even though she resigned from it in 2009 following a similar incident, to deal with Ms Djaba appropriately since her behaviours is contrary to good order and the discipline expected of a party member.

We are also making a direct appeal to the media houses who give her the platform, to be circumspect in their dealings with her, by drawing their attention to the fact that they could be jointly responsible for the libellous journey that Ms Djaba is undertaking, and be conscious of the fact that in future, any such act or acts of malicious fabrication carried through their media will be dealt with in the courts of law.
