Ex Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye is urging the current side to play beyond themselves to emulate the historic feat chalked by the year 2000 crop.

Quaye was part of a talented generation of players for the Phobians that won virtually everything in sight in the year 2000.

Led by the iconic figure of Jones Attuquayefio on the touchlines, the ?64 Battalion? as they were affectionately known conquered both the local and domestic scene.

They won the CAF Champions League and the Super Cup having enjoyed a sustained spell of domestic success.

The current generation of Hearts players are considered nowhere near the class acts of 2000.

Herbert Addo?s side have however been on a good run so far in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Quaye who now plays for Great Olympics is willing the side on to greatness.

?I will say that the team of the year 2000 was very different. I call it a dream team and I hope this current team will replicate what we did,? he said.

?Even though Hearts won in Mali, Djoliba are also coming to Ghana to get a result. The Phobians must be determined to qualify so they must prepare very well.?
