Reports say there have been exchanges of gun shots and burning of houses at Nakpanduri in the Northern Region.
According to the reports, Konkombas are said to be marching on some villages of the Bemobas. Several houses have been burnt to ashes.
A resident of Nakpanduri, Timothy Konlan said the disturbance started last night, saying the police are on the ground.
Konlan however added the police personnel at the clashes area were too negligible to quell the situation.
Mr Konlan, who was speaking from the Nakpanduri chief’s palace, said the police came to counsel the chief to appeal to his people to hold their horses whilst they make efforts to get the Konkombas to cease fire.
Meanwhile, Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP George Tuffuor said the men shooting have retreated, explaining that a combined police and military team had brought calm to the area.
