boltWould you??pray to God to unleash a thunderbolt in the course of a significant event???No! It?s a definite no brainer. But that is exactly what the Scots have done. Prior to the opening of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, organizers??and fans of the games knelt in supplication for the fastest man on earth to recover from a foot injury that rendered him hors de combat since the beginning??of the year.
?I have received lots of requests, invitations and messages of support from my fans in Scotland who are looking forward to a great event, ?said Usain Bolt.
As a result, even though he had previously ruled himself out in the 100m and 200m individual sprints, due to injury, he still remained hopeful regarding his participation in the ? Friendly Games.? Butsurprisingly, a few weeks prior to the event, the towering speedster made an about-face and stated??his interest to show up at the games despite??his injury.
He??therefore decided to play a cameo role and was lucky to be selected in the 4??x 100m relay squad for Jamaica. Without any doubt, this comes as a great??relief?for??the games impresarios,??and the long wait is now over, apparently because Usain Bolt jet-skipped??into Glasgow??after a long haul flight from Jamaica?on Saturday?afternoon. He was met by a huge??cheering crowd including journalists at Glasgow International Airport.
Indeed now that Bolt has set foot in Glasgow, if you ask me, God has finally unleashed a thunderbolt or a lightning strike not in the literal sense for annihilation, but rather??figuratively to provide that awesome fractal spark of friendship at the games. Usain??Bolt will?be??that stupendous??lightning strike??that?is likely to burn up the tartan tracks at Hampden Park in splits seconds??to the amazement of the whole world once again.
To give credence to this belief, within??an hour after touching down?on Saturday, the 27-year- old Jamaican, sprint superstar hinted at a press conference that his foot injury was gone. ? I am here to run? he said. The six- time Olympic Champion?further stated that he will be running??in the??4x 100m relays heats on?1st August. He said he is in good shape since he has been training over a month but he is not in running shape that is why he wants to run the heats, obviously to help him get into winning mode.
In fact, this is Bolt?s first Commonwealth Games, and he looks forward to entertain his numerous fans with a great performance . He said ? I live for the fans. When I go onto the track I want my fans to enjoy my performances , I want to feed on their energy always.?
This is well said but there is also a lingering fear that??Bolt will pull out. But the assurance to his fans that he would be on the tracks, was rather quick. Without mincing words, he said he will not??travel this far and fail to compete. After the heats Bolt will take his position on the tracks at the final of the 4x 100m relays??on 2ndAugust.
The athletic star, Usain Bolt?s form may be in doubt but he remains a force to be reckoned with on any day. Don?t forget, the fans will be there for Bolt, this will make it possible for him to feed on their energies?to enable him cast a deadly lightning strike in his tracks during the finals of the 4x100m relay sprints.
The Lightning Bolt is likely to thunder??and burn up??the home straight??in record time at his first Commonwealth Games. You better keep your eyes on the tracks, so that you don?t miss??the pyrotechnics, but also be quick to lift your gaze so that you can??glimpse Bolt?s ?archer???pose after the thunderbolt.
