Ghanaians, let’s wise up

This was sent to me and I thought I should share it:

“There is a growing breed of young educated and rich Ghanaian men who are living the champagne lifestyle without countering these excesses with healthy diet and regular exercise.

On my last trip to Ghana, I was moving in a circle of rich professional 30 somethings and I noted and in fact commented that they were all too big and unhealthy looking. They just binge on beer, over indulge in starchy foods like fufu, banku and tilapia, wakye first thing in the morning washed down with beer throughout the day. Hard spirits are consumed in the evening.

If you’re over 25 and the life style described above fits you then you need to start taking corrective measures now before its too late:
1. regular exercise (you’re never too old to play football, table tennis or going to the gym, cycling or doing press up, sit up, stretching at home. More walking.

2. eat plenty of fruits and raw vegetable such as lettuce, carrots.

3. reduce your size portions of fufu, white rice and banku and replace with more raw salads.

4. reduce beer consumptions to occasional during the week so that your liver gets a rest from processing alcohol all the time.

Ghana is ignorantly waking into an epidemic where if proper advice is not given and taken heed of our brightest and future leaders are going to start perishing by the dozen prematurely. Let’s wise up!
