Mr Albert Arthur, a 46-year-old Ghanaian wood carver, said he has manufactured energy saving products and a mosquito trap machine.

Mr Arthur told the GNA in Accra at the weekend that he has also manufactured  a special energy saving study lamp with fan, photo sensor solar light, rechargeable led bulb, rechargeable reading glasses and a recording wireless microphone, which were currently in circulation and needed support to produce more of the products.

He said the mosquito trap machine, which could help reduce the spread of malaria, sucks flies and other insect, and that ??there is a special light in the machine that attracts insects and the moment the insects get closer, the machine sucks them?.

Mr Arthur said he had no formal education and used to carve wood in Obuasi-Anyinam in the Ashanti Region some years ago.

On the study rechargeable lamp, he said the idea was to help Ghanaians to continue with their household chores especially in the event of power outage while students could also use it for studies in the absence of electricity and that it has six hour duration of power storage.

Mr Arthur said the rechargeable led bulb was designed to fit into normal socket and the moment there was light off, the led bulb came on automatically.

He said Pamasonik Ghana, his company, was the main supplier of the appliances which he manufactures in china.

Mr Arthur said he was at the moment seeking assistance from UNICEF to produce more of the mosquito trap machine.

According to him the Ministries of Energy and Health have certified the products.
