Ghanaian Nurses In Texas Donate Equipment To KATH

The Ghana Nurses Association in Dallas Forth Worth, Texas, has donated hospital equipment valued at about GH?750,000, to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
HOSPITAL WARDThe items, two incubators, two radiant heaters, ECG machine, four hospital beds, and orthopedic aids among other things, are for the Paediatrics Intensive Care Unit.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), after a short presentation ceremony at KATH on Thursday, Dr. Lydia Kessewaah Gyan-Kesse, a Paediatrician who donated the items on behalf of the Association, said the desire to help improve health facilities in Ghana was the reason for the gesture.
The Association was formed three years ago by a group of nurses led by Joan Buama, who got inspired to help after visiting some health facilities in the country.
Dr. Joseph Akpalu, Chief Executive Officer of KATH, thanked the Association for the initiative, and urged others to followed suit.
Dr. John Adabie Appiah, Head of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit commended the Association for the kind gesture.
