He made this call at an end of year ceremony to acknowledge the aged members in the church and to show appreciation for their contribution to the church.

He said “most people especially the youth in this part of our country tend to blame the aged when things go sour in their lives, tagging them as witches, but that should not be the case.”

“The aged should not be shunned neither should they be tagged as witches but they should be drawn closer because they are human and our source of protection. People believe old age means witchcraft but no it is never witchcraft but a blessing to live long,” he said.

Rev.Charles Anim Brako urged the youth to develop the habit of helping the aged when they are in need.

The Northern Regions of Ghana is noted for the tagging old aged women as witches since most of the witch camps are located in the region. However, these claims of witchcraft cannot be fathomed with unconventional ways used in determining whether one is a witch or not.
