The national airline will be run on a public-private partnership basis, and PWC is expected to advise government on the ownership structure, funding, business model and routes among others.
Citi Business News has learnt a number of investors have shown interest in running the new airline.
Local airline operator Africa World Airlines (AWA) earlier told Citi Business News it intends to pursue its ambition to partner government in the establishment of a new national airline.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show the Deputy Transport Minister Joyce Bawah Mogtari said she was optimistic that a new partner for the national airline would be announced soon.
?As you mentioned earlier with regards to Ghana?s own national airline, yes the transactional advisor is currently working seriously to find us a strategic investor because we want to undertake that process through a public private partnership arrangement.?

Meanwhile she has also defended the kind of services and carriers provided by some international airlines to Ghanaians. Joyce Bawah Mogtari said Emirates for example have very good carriers that travel this route and thinks that they must be congratulated for that first and foremost and the British Airways also sometimes they do have very good carriers other times not so good and when they have one on the old carriers they offer an apology sometimes and offer passengers additional air miles for the inconvenience of traveling on a slightly or an old aircraft.

?Yes I do appreciate your point that sometimes the standards are for below our expectation and so these are all things we can continue to discuss and work on. But I believe that KLM, I have never seen them travel on an aircraft which is so old or slightly or not in good sharp, so it depends really on several things, sometimes there are constrains that are being suffered by the aircraft itself.?
The Deputy Transport Minister added that the ill treatment of Ghanaians by International Airlines are things that we have to bring up every now and then in discussions so solutions could be found to them but said she didn?t think we have to use the same brush to paint all the intentional airlines because some airlines operate actually very good services and in the event that they don?t provide equipment doesn?t meet our standard, they even offer an apology and some explanation.
