Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi says a lot of work has been put in to win a fourth African Youth Championship title at this year?s finals in Senegal.

The Black Satellites have been preparing in the Turkish city of Antalya and will leave for the tournament on Thursday.

Ghana, under current coach Sellas Tetteh, missed out on winning the last tournament in Algeria after a penalty defeat to Egypt.

Nyantakyi believes the current crop of players can win a first title since lifting the trophy at the Rwanda finals in 2009.

?The first task is to qualify for the World Cup and then try and annex the trophy which has eluded us since 2009,? Nyantakyi told Accra-based Joy Sports.

?I believe the team is up to the task, we need to provide them the needed support and that is why we are giving them all the support they deserve.

?In terms of technical expertise and financial support, you can see right away that our intention is clear and that intention is to help the team win the championship.?

The Black Satellites won all two pre-tournament friendly matches against Azerbaijan and a Danish lower division side Ringkobing IF.

Ghana open their campaign against South Africa next Monday before facing Zambia and Mali.
