General Manager threatens to quit at cash-trapped XI Wise

Sekondi XI wise facing difficult times

By Ameenu Shardow

General Manager of XI Wise Gabby Musah Odani has threatened to quit the club barely two months into his appointment for lack of funds.

The second tier side are faced with the potential of not competing in the upcoming Division One League over failure to register players ahead of Friday?s deadline.

There is no money to run the club despite having very prominent personalities such as; Rex Danquah, Joe Ghartey (MP), Papa Owusu- Ankomah (MP) and Wilson Arthur serving on its board.

The Sekondi-based side cannot even afford to hold medicals for its players ? a requirement for registering players for competitions.

As a result, the General Manager says he will resign since attempts made to resource the club through its board members have proved futile.

?They are telling me there is no money so how can we register players??

?We have a board who are not willing to bring money to run the club.

?The situation is very frustrating and therefore I will resign because it is just too much.

?I was approached by XI Wise to be General Manager and therefore I can leave on my own volition.?

The club suffered relegation from the Ghanaian top flight after the 2009/10 season.
