GCB Marks Diamond Jubilee Celebration

The Ghana Commercial Bank has unveiled its new logo for its sixtieth Anniversary Celebration this year.

imagesThe Bank, which started operations in 1953 as the Bank of the Gold Coast has provided quality banking services to the emerging nation towards its socio-economic development.

It was established to pay special attention to Ghanaian traders, the business community, as well as farmers who could not elicit support from the expatriate banks.

Address a Press Conference the Managing Director of GCB, Mr. Simon Dornoo? stated that before the inception of GCB in 1953, there were two expatriate banks operating in 1952 which were not supportive of real businesses.

He said as GCB marks its Sixtieth Anniversary, it is worth nothing that the bank has offered the nation quality banking services and also broadened its scope of operation from small businesses to large corporate entities.

?GCB, the financial supermarket of the nation, has and continuous to introduce products for the benefit of the various groups of one society having chalked firsts in some of the most innovative banking products introduced to the country?, he said.

The Managing Director of GCB also affirmed the commitment of the bank to extending its services to business operating in the oil and gas sector of the country.

?GCB in its sixtieth year is well-positioned to drive the new Ghanaian economy with the oil industry play a major role?.

Recounting the achievement of the bank, Mr. Simon Dornoo said that GCB which started with a single branch in 1983 can now boast of 158 branches nationwide and 15 agencies.

He said that Ghana Commercial Bank is also proud to operate a full multi-channel banking service through reliable and secure internet, Automated Accounts Machine [ATM], and mobile channels.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the GCB is under the theme ?GCB-60YEARS OF SERVICE TO GHANA- CUSTOMERS, BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY?
