Ghana and South Africa have met twice in the Africa Cup of Nations and both went the way of the South Africans, with the third meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 at the Estadio De Mongomo in the 30th Africa Cup of Nations.

Coach Mashaba said, the past records will not have any impact on the outcome of the game on Tuesday, because football goes beyond past records.

?Football is not mathematics and I cannot say because we have beaten them twice in the competition, we will beat them again.

? I am aware of the past records but that will not have any impact on the game. We are not living in the past. We are living in the current.

?History will have a role in the game but that will be minimal. It is going to be a different game.?

Coach Mashaba was however, confident his side will secure victory against Ghana because they had worked on previous mistakes that denied them the three points.

According to the coach, his team had now worked on their composure in front of goal and will implement those corrections when they meet Ghana.

The coach said, his players have in the last two matches struggled with conversion of chances but added that, the situation will be different when they meet Ghana.

?It?s unfortunate we were not able to covert the numerous chances that came our way in the two matches.

?We would have been on top of the table by now, but that is in the past. We are looking forward to a different game against Ghana, where we hope to convert at least three chances in the game.?

The coach said, his players learnt a lot of useful lessons in the competition after failing to win the last two matches despite taking an early lead.

?We have learnt to be focused on the game especially in the dying minutes and I don?t think we will repeat such mistakes again.?
