FONKAR clears the air….

Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings [FONKAR] says the former first lady of the Republic, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is not the founder of the association and thus has no authority over their dealings.

In a statement issued by the association, it recognises no one as its life patron and accuses FONKAR Director of Operations, Earnest Owusu-Bempah of using the name FONKAR to pursue his NPP agenda.

It added that Owusu-Bempah is not a registered member of FONKAR.

Below is the statement release:
To all concerned, the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) was not founded by Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings neither does she have any authority with regards to the group’s operations.

The group in a communiqué issued by the national council on 18th February, 2012 has dissolved its operations, but elements like Ernest Owusu Bempah, who have other interests rather than the NDC is going round claiming the group still exist.

To all intents and purposes, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is not responsible for the operations of FONKAR; neither is she the final authority of the group. FONKAR has no life Patron. The hierarchy of FONKAR stops with the Founder and the National Council, headed by Ransford Vanni-Amoah.

A quick check at the registrar generals department will tell you that the signatories to the registration of FONKAR are Ransford Vanni-Amoah and Dela Coffie.

Elements like Owusu Bempah who officially joined the group on 18th May 2011, and who is still parading himself as FONKAR leading member, and is using the name of the group for his NPP agenda must come to terms with the fact that the titled deed to the name FONKAR is owned by persons who duly registered the organization.

You can continue to be a friend to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and even go ahead and register a name for it, but the patent right of FONKAR can never be used without the authority of those who holds the title deeds according to our laws.

We are ever ready to protect our patent right in any forum, with each strand of our faith and every fibre of our being, without any fear or favour.

The unsuspecting public must be well informed that FONKAR is officially dissolved and there will be no such thing as FONKAR after the necessary process is completed at the registrar general’s department.

Enough has been said, and I shall be back to set the records straight on FONKAR.

Stay Tuned!
