A fire that broke out on Monday morning destroyed about 20 houses in “7 Bis” zone, a populous suburb situated in the south of the Djiboutian capital, an official source told Xinhua.
The source said the fire whose source is not yet known, did not cause any deaths.
Houses in the suburbs of the Djiboutian capital, which are mostly made with wood, frequently catch fire especially during summer seasons.
Following the fire, Djibouti’s interior ministry distributed tents and other basic household items to the families that had lost everything in the fire.
The county’s Interior Minister Hassan Omar Mohamed, who visited “7 Bis” suburb in the company of several officials from his ministry, ordered the immediate setting up of a crisis response center to assist those affected by the tragedy. Enditem
