The Sudan Football Association (SFA) has lodged official complaint to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) to turn down FIFA?s earlier decision of stripping off points for allegedly fielding unqualified player in their game against Zambia.
The CAS confirmed receiving this complaint from the SFA on Wednesday over the match played on Saturday, June2, 2012. FIFA found the Nile Crocodiles guilty of fielding unqualified player Saif Ali who was supposed to serve a ban over accumulated yellow cards.
This decision saw Sudan being stripped off 3 points and 3 goals to Zambia and they [Zambia] clkimbed to the summit of Group D as Ghana are three points behind the Chipolopolos.
This news will be a boost for Ghana Black Stars who are campaigning for their third successive World Cup tournament in 2014. CAS is expected to make a final decision by February next year i.e. a month before the qualifiers begin.
