Ghanaian midfielder Evans Frimpong is making waves at Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League.

The 23-year-old, who joined Rowdies from Reading United last year, has been phenomenal for the side.

The former Liberty Professionals midfielder helped the side record their first win of the 2013 season, as Tampa Bay Rowdies recorded a 1-0 win over USF at the Corbet Soccer Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The talented attacking enforcer was selected by the Chicago Fire in the first round with the ninth overall pick of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Frimpong finished his college career at the University of Delaware and became the first Blue Hen player to be selected in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Draft.

He was the captain of the Liberty youth side that picked silver in the Gothia Cup in Sweden in 2008 which featured current Black Stars players Daniel Agyei, Kwadwo Asamoah, Rabiu Mohammed and Richard Kissi-Boateng.
