Emmanuel Frimpong has returned for Ghana against Egypt

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been named in  Ghana squad to face Egypt in a 2014 World Cup play-offs first leg tie on October 15.

The 21-year-old has been drafted into the team to replace injured Rabiu Mohammed despite playing a bit part role in Arsenal?s campaign.

This will be the second time that the former Fulham loanee will be playing for the Black Stars after he marked his debut in the 4-0 win over Sudan in March.

Frimpong has since not played for the Black mainly because of injuries. He suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in May but has since fully recovered after undergoing surgery.

Even though he has not featured for the Gunners this season, his impressive showing against the Nile Crocodile in Kumasi has won him a place in Kwesi Appiah?s squad to face the Pharoahs in the Garden City.

The Black Stars are seeking a comfortable win over the North African side in the first leg to make the return fixture a mere formality.
