EFG has identified some indigenous brands

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) has identified some indigenous brands and entrepreneurs that will be awarded at this year?s Ghana-Made Awards scheduled for October 24 at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.

Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Great Kosa Group of Companies and Adelaide Ahwireng, CEO of Fio Enterprises Limited are among some local greats to be celebrated.

Sam Ato Gaisie, President of the EFG, who disclosed this recently in a statement, said the personalities would be recognized for their role in promoting made-in-Ghana products at the event.

He said products and services short-listed were judged on the criteria of quality, content, innovation and product leadership.

He also cited benefit of product to consumers, product value and packaging, as well as product certification by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and the Food and Drugs Authority as other considerations.

Mr. Gaisie mentioned products such as Kantanka SUVs, Kasapreko Alomo Bitters, Pride Rice, GTP Nustyle, Woodin Fabrics, Golden Tree Chocolate, Ruut Extra Premier Beer, and Special Ice Natural Mineral Water.

TV3?s Ghana?s Most Beautiful programme, UT Bank Koowa Accounts, Ghana Commercial Bank, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GTV Agrofie programme, Global Access SME Auto Loan and Unibank Ghana Ltd, he added, were among some service providers that had been nominated.

The President indicated that the awards would cover ?Personality, Product and Service of the Year; Lifetime; Emerging, Innovative, Natural Mineral Water, Food & Beverages, and Building Construction categories.

He said operators from the Ghanaian pharmaceutical and herbal industries, print & electronic media, as well as financial sector would also participate in the event.

Companies producing insecticides, water storage equipment and variety of household items have also been selected.
