Dr. Koryoe Anim-Wright, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the African University College of Communications (AUCC), has been appointed Acting President (AUCC) effective June 1, 2015.

Dr. Anim-Wright was appointed the VP Academic of AUCC in January 2014.  She previously served as the dean of the Sam E. Jonah School of Business from May 2013. Since her arrival at AUCC, she has focused her time on refining AUCC?s strategic plan, worked closely with the deans and directors to set the University?s broad academic directions, designed and evaluated programmes as well as expanded the faculty.

Prior to her appointment at AUCC, she worked at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) where she served as the Director of the Centre for Management Development (2010-2011) and Director of Corporate Affairs and Institutional Advancement (2011-2013).

Dr. Anim-Wright started her career at Central State University (CSU) in Wilberforce, OH, USA, serving in various leadership positions in the Office of Sponsored Programmes and Research and the Centre for International Programmes. She was the Principal Investigator on grants from several federal agencies including the U.S. Small Business Administration and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). While at CSU, she secured a $500,000 USAID-University Development Linkages Project grant which was used for collaborative research and development projects in the Chemistry and Water Resources Management departments of CSU and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science of Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. From 1997 to 2009, she worked with Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in Danbury, CT, in several capacities including Vice President for Institutional Advancement. As Vice President, she had oversight responsibility for the development, supervision, implementation and management of WCSU?s university relations and institutional advancement operations. She also served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the WCSU Foundation, charged with the implementation of board decisions, fundraising, and forecast planning and analyses and was instrumental in helping the Foundation to increase its assets from $8 to $16 million.

In Ghana, she recently served as a member of the National Planning Committee responsible for hosting the 2012 African Union Public Sector Day and on the Board of the Ghana Institute of Languages.

She received her bachelor?s from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH, and her Ph.D. from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She speaks both English and French.

Dr. Anim-Wright is expected to use her enormous experience in university management to strengthen AUCC.
