Do away with intolerance, tribalism – Abubakar Ali

The Deputy Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Abubakar Ali, has urged Ghanaians to do away with intolerance, tribalism and disrespect to each other, to sustain the peace in the country.
He called for love and understanding for one another, which he said were the necessary ingredients to promote peace in Ghana and the world at large.
Imam Ali, was speaking at the inauguration and regional congress of the Eastern Regional branch of the Ghana United Nations Association(GUNA ) which was organized under the theme: ?Promoting and sustaining the peace process in Ghana-The Role of the Ghana United Nations Association, ?? in Koforidua.
He observed that without peace, no society can achieve any economic development and technological advancement.
Nana Osei Owusu Agyare II, Akwadumhene, congratulated religious bodies in the area for their immense contributions to the peace in the country, and urged them to continue to use their platforms to promote peace.
Rev. Paul Brako, Eastern Regional Coordinator of GUNA, explained that the organization helps promote peace in member-countries of the United Nation and the world.
He indicated that peace was achieved through the collective efforts of all, and urged Ghanaians to embrace the concept of GUNA and make it work.
Superintendent Richardson Kumeko, the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander , urged members of GUNA to be disciplined an committed to the ideals of the organization.
He advised members of the association to be
law- abiding.
As part of the activities of the congress , 22 executive members of the Eastern Regional branch of the association were sworn into office.
