Mr. Thaddeus Sory, counsel for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) counsel on Tuesday, engaged the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Presidential Commission of Inquiry in a fierce legal tussle and succeeded in getting his clients eight-day period before making another appearance according to the rules guiding the operations of the commission.

Mr. Sory, told the commission, that, the right of his clients Fred Crenstil, chairman of the Black Starlets Management Committee and Vice President of the GFA was violated.

According to Mr. Sory, his client only picked up his invitation to appear before the commission on Tuesday morning, making the hearing notice short and a clear violation.

He added that, his client was not informed of his status at the commission, explaining that he wants to know whether his client was ?a target or non-target witness?.

Mr. Sory insisted his client should be given notice eight clear days before making an appearance..

This compelled the commission to take a short break to deliberate on the matter and on resumption, Justice Dzamefe admitted Mr Sory was right.

?I enjoyed the academic exercise, it was good, lawyer Sory you are intelligent,? he stated.

Justice Dzamefe however, noted that, the Commission could have also insisted to proceed based on its powers to modify the counsel?s request according to rule 23 but stated that, they will agree to Mr. Sory?s request of seeking adequate notice for his clients.

The Commission, applied Rule 9 CI 65 which grants the witness a grace period of eight days to reappear from the day invitation was served.

Mr. Sory?s successful argument granted six other clients who are chairmen of the Management Committees of the various national teams; Mr. George Afriyie (Black Satellites), Mr. Mathew N.S. Doe (Black Meteors), Fred Pappoe (Local Black Stars), Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang (Black Princesses), Mr. Adam Munkaila (Black Queens) and Mr. Augustine Asante (Black Maidens) the same privilege.
