The Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD,Ghana has been honoured by the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) for his support and contribution towards cocoa production and sustainability in Ghana.

Mr.Anthony Fofie was honoured at the 21st World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) Partnership Meeting and Roundtable Sessions held in Washington, DC.

In a press statement issued by COCOBOD,Mr.Fofie said he spoke on the topic, ?The Role of Public Private Partnership in Feed the Future? during the programme that hosted his award.

It also said Mr Fofie touched on the important role of Public-Private Partnership in cocoa production and extension, input supply services and internal cocoa marketing.

COCOBOD,in collaboration with WCF and the Hershey?s Company of the USA has introduced the CocoaLink project in Ghana in relation to the contribution of Public-Private Partnership in the internal marketing of cocoa. This is to help farmers communicate important and technical information in a two-way direction via mobile telephone.

He also implored partners such as Africa Cocoa Initiative (ACI) to help farmers achieve higher and sustainable production. This is geared towards building farmer capacity in food production and the adoption of good farm management practices.Through this,the nation?s food security will be attained.

Mr Fofie expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged to continue to work even harder for the advancement of the world cocoa economy.
