The Chief Executive Officer of Techcom Visions Ltd, Mr Tsonam Cleanse Akpeloo, has been awarded the Young Visionary Entrepreneur for his contributions to Ghana?s growth and economic development.

The African Leadership Magazine, which organises the Ghana Leadership Excellence Awards to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and development, presented the awards.

Mr Akpeloo?s award is in recognition of his remarkable achievements of rendering impeccable service and entrepreneurial professionalism in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

Techcom Visions, established by Mr Akpeloo, a young Ghanaian graduate of the University of Ghana and Ghana Telecom University, is one of the fastest growing information technology (IT) solutions providers in the country. Techcom Visions operates in a vast range of IT value chain with portfolio of businesses including website designing and management, e-mail services, software deployment, systems installations, ICT services, IT outsourcing, IT security and e-marketing.

The publisher of the authoritative African Leadership magazine, Dr Ken Giami, presented the plaque to him at this year?s Ghana Leadership Awards Dinner Gala in Accra at the weekend.

Some past recipients of the African Leadership awards include former President John Agyekum Kufuor; President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, Dr Mo Ibrahim, Dr Donald Kebaruka, President of the African Development Bank, Abdoulaye Janneh, Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), amongst other notable leaders.

Mr Akpeloo later told the Daily Graphic that the only way the country could make it was when citizens led its development efforts by building successful corporations with global outlook, which are capable of creating jobs for the many unemployed citizens.

?Indigenous entrepreneurship is key in any meaningful development efforts. He urged the government to make youth entrepreneurship a deliberate policy for development,? he stated.
