Gyan is a doubt for Ghana?s game against Sudan on Friday

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is a doubt for Sunday?s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sudan with a late injury setback.

The in-form Al Ain attacker pulled out of Friday?s training session after complaining of pains in his thigh.

He suffered the injury during the team?s 5-0 friendly win over second-tier Asokwa Deportivo at the Baba Yara stadium.

The 27-year-old was hoping to shake off the problem but could not bear the pains in the thigh and therefore pulled out of the penultimate training session.

Gyan will undergo a scan on Friday morning to determine the extent of the problem.

The result of the scan will determine his involvement in this weekend?s World Cup qualifier against the Nile crocodile at the Baba Yara stadium.

The potential absence of the former Sunderland hitman will be a huge source of worry to coach Kwesi Appiah and his backroom

Ghanaian fans are waiting anxiously for the outcome of the scan as he is hugely regarded as the country?s best striking option in the last ten years.
