He said on May 18, this year, whilst the daughter was asleep, around midnight , the accused visited her and after having sex with her, gave her some concoction to drink to abort the pregnancy.

He said the girl after taking the concoction started vomiting and the boy became offended and subjected her to severe beatings and she became unconscious .

Amenuvor said the accused dragged his pregnant daughter into an uncompleted manhole, dumped the body there and hit her several times with cement blocks while the girl was in the manhole, and assuming that the daughter was dead, he left for Suhum.

He said after gaining consciousness, the daughter raised an alarm and the youth of the village managed to arrested him later.

When the police at Suhum was contacted, they confirmed the story and said the accused was being prepared for court.

Mean while the girl had been admitted at the Rev. Bidi Memorial Hospital at Suhum.
