The Bulgarian cabinet on Wednesday decided to send up to 21 military personnel to participate in the NATO-led Resolute Support mission (RSM) to Afghanistan, the Government Information Service said in a statement.
The servicemen would perform tasks such as communication and information support to the headquarters of the mission in Kabul from July 1 this year to Jan. 30, 2016.
Nato-3RSM is a new NATO-led mission to train, advice and assist the Afghan security forces and institutions. It was launched on Jan. 1, 2015, immediately following the stand-down of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
Bulgaria, a NATO member since 2004, has been participating in ISAF missions since 2002.
Last October, the country decided to join RSM, and currently has 110 troops in Afghanistan, according to the mission’s website. Enditem
