This was especially in the face of the mobilizing force of the foremost Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and pro-Jonathan group, the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) which raised nearly twenty million verifiable signatures in support for the return of Jonathan within just sixty days.

With these enthusiastic registered members across the six geopolitical zones in the country canvassing votes for Jonathan’s reelection the APC candidate would have a Herculean task ahead of the presidential poll especially. This is exactly the situation now just as the NGO has taken bold steps round the country to mobilize voters at the grassroots level round the nooks and crannies of Nigeria for the reelection of the president.

According to TAN’s Director of Operations, Mr Benchuks Nwosu, members of the group round the nation have been mandated to embark on massive grassroots mobilization with a view to ensuring effective outreach to the people living in rural areas of the country on the need to reelect Jonathan.

Nwosu noted that the TAN has following the grassroots drive inaugurated people into ward structure as ward Executives and mobilizers adding that the ward structures are targeted at reaching out to rural women, rural famers, teachers, youth, traders aged fathers and mothers to vote for Jonathan at the polls come next February.

He said that the ward structure inauguration was a huge success as people jostled for membership adding that the NGO aims to use the grassroots drive to make the reelection of the incumbent president possible, easy, stress-free and peaceful in such a way that the opposition won’t expect it.

He said that TAN is making progress with its programs because of quality performance of President Jonathan noting that what is needed to convince the people and rally their votes for him is just to explain to then in details what Jonathan has done and what he plans to do if he wins the election for second.

Hear him, “Jonathan is very attractive to the people and that has made the mobilization drive an easy job for us, what the people need is just simple explanation about what he has done in the Oil sector, Agric sector, education, road, aviation, women empowerment, rail lines that are put in place, sports development and commitment toward credible election etc and you have their support” Nwosu added.
