Julius Debrah hosts Brazilian Ambassador

Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has said the government of Ghana was committed to strengthening diplomatic ties with Brazil.

Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and Ms Irene Vida Gala, the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana at the left and Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye, a Deputy of the Ministry and Member of Parliament for Odododiodio and other officials of the Ministry.

This, he said, would promote stronger partnership in urban development, rural housing, technology transfer and capacity building between the two countries.

Mr Debrah said this when Ms Irene Vida Gala, the Brazilian Ambassador in Ghana, paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Accra on Wednesday.

He said Brazil was helping Ghana in many areas to improve its economy and would continue to seek technical and financial assistance from Brazil.

Mr Debrah said Brazil was helping in the Kumasi Market and the Tema Sewerage Projects and a Brazilian firm was interested in waste and sanitation management of Ghana.

Mr Debrah thanked the Ambassador for the Brazilian Embassy?s support to Ghana before, during and after FIFA World Cup hosted by Brazil.

Ms Gala said the Local Government Ministry had a good relationship with the Brazilian Embassy and expressed the hope that the relationship would continue for the betterment of the two countries.

She said Brazil was ready to assist Ghana to improve its economy.
